Hi,
I am new in setting up Snort and not a guru in Linux yet. I have setup Redhat Enterprise 4 with snort 2.8.5.
However, when I try to run snort on IDS mode i.e. (snort -c /etc/snort/snort.conf) I am getting error below with all the rules.

Initializing rule chains…
ERROR: /etc/snort/rules/bad-traffic.rules(12) Unknown ClassType: misc-activity
Fatal Error, Quitting..

Help on what I am missing. Any document or site I can refer…
